Bosch North America is a market leader in the development and sale of electric vehicle chargers. The Bosch EV charger portfolio includes Level 2 and DC charging stations with capacities from 3.3 to 22 kW, as well as Combo Charging Systems that combine fast-charging technology for battery electric vehicles (BEVs) with a high-voltage quick charge port for plug-in hybrid vehicles (PHEVs).
Bosch North America is an American-based company that manufactures and sells home charging stations for electric vehicles. The brand’s products range from less popular models, such as portable use, to in-demand models for home use. Bosch has been making electric vehicle chargers since the release of its first product in 20061. Today, they have a variety of high powered devices currently on the market.
The main reason is that Level 2 chargers provide more power, which means a faster charge time. Bosch Level 2 chargers provide up to 10 kilowatts (kW) of power2, while Level 1 chargers offer only 1.2 kW. This can make a significant difference when charging larger electric vehicles like SUVs and trucks.
Level 2 chargers are also more prevalent than Level 1 in public spaces, so most people will have an easier time finding a Bosch Level 2 charger if they need to recharge their electric vehicle.
Another reason that Bosch Level 2 is better than Level 1 has to do with safety. Level 2 chargers prevent the inadvertent touching of 120V wires by only providing access to the Level 2 connector when the plug is fully inserted into the car. With Level 1 chargers, there is always potential for someone to touch a 120V wire, even if the plug is not fully inserted. How safe is an EV battery is a question that often worries electric vehicle owners. You can also find out about this from the article on the site.
So if you have an electric vehicle, it’s definitely worth it to invest in a Bosch charger.
Bosch EV charging stations are made to withstand the harshest environments. If you live in an area that gets extreme weather or high temperatures, this is a great option for your electric vehicle needs. Plus, it comes with a 3-year warranty3 direct from Bosch so you can be sure of its quality and dependability!

Is my Bosch EV charger compatible with my car?
All Bosch Level 2 charging stations are compatible with most EVs worldwide. They use the J1772 connector. Each Tesla vehicle comes with a J1772 adapter, which plugs into a J1772 connector and into the EV.
Are Bosch EV chargers able to be used outside?

How can you adjust amps? Is there a button to adjust amps?
The factory has set the EV400 at a 4 amp output setting for Table 1, and 5 for Tables 2, 3 and 4. An electrician can make adjustments to the output amperage for all other amperages.
1. Turn off the power to the outlet at breaker panel and unplug the EV400.
2. The adhesive overlay must be removed from the molded-well on the back side of the EV400.
3. Use a small flat-blade screwdriver to adjust the current-adjustment selector for the output current-limiting setting.
What is the difference between bosch 2 EV chargers and bosch 2 “plug-in” ev charging?
You can simply install a receptacle with the “plugin” EV400 and plug it in. This product is only recommended for indoor use. We don’t know yet how the Bosch EV400 will perform over time. The PowerCharge Energy charger is a long-standing product that has been in the market for over two years. It has a great reliability record. The PowerCharge Energy charger is available as a plug-in, but can be hardwired for outdoor installations. You can also adjust the amperage of the PowerCharge to make it adaptable for limited power sources. The PowerCharge is a better choice than the EV400. We hope you find this helpful.
Will this UL-certified or cause a fire in my home?
I’m not sure. It is very sturdy with heavy-duty lines and plugs. To handle the unit, I had to increase my garage wiring from 60 amps to 70 amps. If it wasn’t, my electrician would have told me. Works like a charm…
Does it work outdoors in California
Outdoor units are not recommended as they can be damaged by the elements. If you cover it, different story. Commercial grade is best for installations in the elements. It’s also very cost-effective.
Will it work with 110 AC 60 Hz?
It’s a NEMA6-50 plug that works with 208-220v.

Just set up my EV300. Smooth process, took me back to my early DIY days with pops. Feeling relieved; my last charger felt like a gamble every time I plugged in. Bosch is on point with quality; never thought I’d be sentimental about a charger. Any of you had similar upgrades?
Anybody know how these Bosch chargers fare in, let’s say, -30°C? My previous one, not a Bosch, literally froze on me last winter. You can imagine my despair. Does Bosch live up to the hype about extreme weather durability?
Went through a rough winter last year, and the EV300 was a champ. No issues, even when my porch froze over. I’d say they do live up to the hype.
For all the newbies, your first time installing a Bosch can be like a rite of passage. Takes me back to when I first got into EVs. Start with the wall mounting, guys. Trust me, it’s not rocket science. Anyone interested in a detailed guide?
On a tight budget but need a solid charger. Any Bosch model that’s friendly on the wallet but won’t leave me high and dry? I feel like I’m navigating a minefield of choices here.

My EV200 keeps tripping my circuit breaker. Super annoyed. Thought Bosch was supposed to be reliable. What gives? Anyone else facing this?
Leaning toward Bosch, but wondering how it stacks up against ChargePoint. Both have good reviews, but Bosch seems to be the old guard. Kinda like choosing between a vintage watch and a smartwatch. Both tell time but in different ways, you know? Who’s had experiences with both?
If you’re a night owl like me, set your charger to work during off-peak hours. It’s like having a coffee ready when you wake up but for your car. Any other nocturnal tips?
