Some US utilities have ‘time-of-use’ electricity rates. If so, the price of electricity may vary according to when Webasto charger is used. It can be expensive if you charge an electric car during peak hours, when electricity is most expensive.
There are three factors that affect the cost of charging your electric car with Webasto: 1) The tariff system for electricity, 2) the type of charger you use, 3) how often you charge.
If your home is located in a region with time-of-use rates, consider charge the car only at “off peak” rate.
Your tariff system will affect how much you pay for electricity, but will NOT affect the cost of charging your electric car.
You can control ‘time-of-use rates’ and the type of Webasto charger you use. You can choose a low rate tariff for electricity, you can choose an ‘off-peak’ charging time, and you can choose an off-peak charger.

Do I need to put it in a dryer?
It all depends on which outlet you have. The NEMA 6-20p cable is not compatible with most dryer outlets. There are many adapters that can be used with this cable to connect it to a variety of 240V outlets. It works well. I bought a 6–20R to L14-20p adapter for my garage to plug into a 24V outlet.
Is this cable going to charge a kia soul?
Yes. It will charge 10 miles/hr/chg. A 30a station charges twice as fast, approximately 20 miles per hour. We hope you find this helpful.
Is it possible to get an adapter that will allow me to plug in the NEMA6-50R receptacles? This is safe? The majority of 30A chargers use NEMA6-50R. Both can be used with the same receptacle.
It is a unique adaptor that I have never seen. However, you can make it yourself by getting the NEMA6-20R Plug and the NEMA6-50 plug and a suitable length heavy-duty cable (3 conductors). I made an adaptor at home to plug in to a regular clothes dryer outlet using parts I bought at Home Depot (or online). It works great! I also use a 50ft NEMA-20 extension cable with my charging units.
It will it work with the mercedes GLC 350e? I don’t want to void my warranty by using a charger not approved. thanks!
Will I be able to charge my BMW i3 with a Tesla charging station?
Is there a 14-50 adpator to this?
AV recommends against using extension cords or adapters with the TurboCord. They could interfere with the TurboCord’s ability to detect if it is plugged in to a grounded outlet (a safety feature built into the TurboCord) and cause an error/trouble lamp and impede TurboCord use. We cannot also guarantee the safety or quality of adapters from other manufacturers.

What’s Webasto Next?
Webasto Next is a smart charging station that makes it easy to charge e-cars. The Webasto ChargeConnect backend gives you a complete overview of your charging station and allows you to control it remotely.
What is the process of authentification using Scan & Charge?
You can control who is allowed to charge at your Webasto Next with the Scan & Charge access control. Scan & Charge authenticates the charging station user. The user scans the QR code on the charging station using his Webasto ChargeConnect App. Once the wallbox has recognized the authorization, the charging process begins. Any number of users can register and be managed in the Webasto ChargeConnect App.
Is it possible to create a new QR code in Webasto Next’s Webasto Next?
The scope of delivery for Webasto Next includes two preconfigured QR codes. For safety’s sake, one should always be kept. If the user has to use the backup QR code again, it should be copied. This can be done at a printer, for instance.
Can the Webasto Next be connected to the energy management software (EMS)? What are the requirements?
Between the EMS and the wallbox, a router or DHCP switching should be installed. Most energy management systems require an external meter. The compatible meters should be requested through the EMS provider. In Q2 2022, a list of compatible energy management system (EMS) will become available.
Preconfigured Webasto Next?
Pre-configured Webasto Nexts are always available. The Webasto Charger Setup App provides an installer support app that offers a guideline for qualified electricians.
Recently got the Webasto Pure for my Ford Mustang Mach-E. Felt a sense of accomplishment, almost like when I got my first PC up and running. I was initially worried about the install process, but it was a breeze. I agree with the buzz that Webasto is smart; it integrates seamlessly with my smart home setup. The charging speed’s a game-changer for me. Opinions on Webasto Pure vs Next?
My Chevy Bolt’s pretty picky with chargers. Got a lot of concerns about compatibility issues. Is Webasto really as universal as they say? Would love to hear your thoughts.
The Webasto line is pretty versatile in my experience. I’ve got friends who use it for different EV models, and so far no complaints. It’s like a universal remote for EVs.
If anyone’s intimidated by the Webasto install, don’t be. I was too until I tackled it last weekend. It’s basically like building IKEA furniture, but a bit more high stakes. I might put together a guide if there’s interest.
My Hyundai Kona’s running on fumes when it comes to charger compatibility. Looking for something efficient yet affordable. Webasto seems like a luxury I can’t afford. Or can I?
If budget’s a constraint, maybe consider the Webasto Go. It’s a bit like the “starter pack” for EV charging. Simple and portable but does the job.
The pedestal for my Webasto Next isn’t holding up. Called support but they’re taking their sweet time. Anyone else in this sinking ship?
Webasto Next vs. Tesla Wall Charger, that’s my current dilemma. Tesla has brand power, sure, but Webasto seems like the smart techie’s choice. Kinda like Android vs. iOS if you get my drift. Thoughts?
Keep an eye on Webasto’s software updates, they’re like Easter eggs. Always some new feature to explore. It’s like leveling up in a video game. Who else has discovered cool stuff in the updates?
Webasto’s rolling out a new energy management feature in their next software update. It’s an evolving world, this EV ecosystem. Pay attention, people!
In talks with a Webasto distributor for a group buy. A group buy is a great way to save on costs; it’s like carpooling but for chargers. Anyone else interested?
Saw a report on potential overheating with some Webasto Pure models. Check your serial numbers and keep safe, guys. Don’t let your charger turn into a campfire.
